We are thrilled that our Bedstuy project was written up in the NY Times. Thank you Tim McKeough for the fantastic summary of our journey, and Emily Gilbert for the the beautiful pictures! And of course huge thank you’s to the design and construction team that made it all happen.
The comments posted stirred up a lot of conversation in our office about striking the balance between respecting the past and the necessity of striving into the future when renovating and retrofitting our old building stock to allow it to last another 100 plus years. It is an on-going and important conversation, but ultimately our position is that we need to constantly be questioning what we hold on to (gas? - no thank you), and embrace the change that will lead to a more considered use of our planets resources.
